The Department of Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates was the seventh academic Emergency Medicine Department in the country. The Department sponsors a broad range of clinical, educational, research, and consulting initiatives in the areas of Emergency Medicine and Emergency Management.
The Department is committed to service excellence in patient care and education, expansion of Emergency Medicine's boundaries through the development of new programs and configurations, a public health, population-based approach to Emergency Medicine and Emergency Health Services, and the creation of new knowledge in this field. The Department is committed to improving our local community as well as providing services throughout the world.
