Ms. LeBrun earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida (1986) and a master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion/Disease Prevention from Florida International University (1992). Before becoming the MFA’s Senior Nutritionist, Ms. LeBrun was in private practice and held positions at both the George Washington University Lipid Research Clinic as a research assistant and the George Washington University Weight Management Program as the director of Nutrition Services for 12 years. At the Lipid Research Clinic, she implemented a low-fat diet protocol for women as part of the “Women’s Health Initiative”, a NIH funded, nationwide twelve year research study looking at the prevention of heart disease, colon and breast cancer. At the Weight Management program, she developed and led nutritional and behavioral groups, saw individuals for weight management and supervised a staff of five dietitians. Ms. LeBrun specializes in bariatrics (weight management), endocrinology, cardiology and gastrointestinal disorders.
