Richard B. and Lynne V. Cheney Cardiovascular Institute

The Richard B. and Lynne V. Cheney Cardiovascular Institute was established in 2006 by a generous $2.7 million dollar charitable contribution from former vice president Richard Cheney and his wife Lynne.

The Institute encompasses MFA's division of cardiovascular medicine with its cardiac professionals, many whom specialize in heart disease prevention, imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, nuclear, heart failure and more. Through the MFA, the Institute provides high-quality heart care and a longstanding tradition of caring for the hearts in our local community.

Women With Heart:

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death in American Women? It kills more than one in three. Twice as many women die from heart disease as from all forms of cancer . . . combined. Yet, only one woman in every eight understands that heart disease poses the greatest health threat to women. That’s why Women With Heart exists – to help educate, support and inspire women. Women With Heart is a collaboration between The GW Medical Faculty Associates and The Cheney Institute for Cardiovascular Health.

Please view the video about the heart attack experience of Rachel Hartig. . . and make an appointment to see your doctor for your annual physical exam and evaluation of your cardiovascular wellness.
