Sculptra

DEFINITION

Fillers plump skin on the face or hands which has lost volume to the aging process. Filler materials range from body fat and collagen to natural acids to synthetic materials and are generally offered on an outpatient basis under local anethesia.

Sculptra has been used across Europe since the 90s to improve hollowed cheeks, sunken eyes and wrinkles. Injections are performed in a doctor's office under local anesthesia. It generally requires three to six treatments to achieve the desired results which lasts up to two years. Allergic reactions are possible, but rare. Some patient may develop bumps beneath the skin which may be surgically removed.
