Summer EMT Program


If you are 17 to 25 prior to the start date of the course, able to provide a record of up-to date vaccinations and physical exam, and meet time and physical commitments of the program, you qualify to take part in The George Washington University's Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Clinical Summer Program. This EMT Certification Program is designed exclusively for high school students interested in a career in medicine. The program, which will run July - August will instruct students on how to provide emergency medical care to victims of sudden illness and will help them to develop critical pre-med skills in:

  • EMTSymptom recognition
  • Patient Interaction
  • Emergency Triage

This unique course is taught by George Washington University faculty and clinicians. Students enrolled in the course will receive: 

  • EMTClinical hospital rotations and access to the GW Hospital Simulation Lab
  • Exclusive, "hands-on" clinical time with George Washington University emergency medicine physicians
  • Eligibility to take the NREMT

No other experience can prepare you more for a future in the medical field. Space is limited, so please review the information below carefully.
