Dr. Nader Sadeghi is Director of Head & Neck Surgery at The GW Medical Faculty Associates and leads a multi-disciplinary team which cares for patients with tumors of the head and neck.
Dr. Sadeghi takes special interest in minimally invasive approaches to head and neck tumors. He has developed new endoscopic surgical techniques to manage sinus and nasal tumors, and other pathologies of the sinuses and skull base. His areas of interest include, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland tumors, head and neck tumors including minimally invasive transoral microscopic laser surgical approaches and transoral robotic surgrey (TORS) for tumors of vocal cords, larynx, pharynx, base of tongue, and parapharyngeal space. He has interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery following skin cancer treatment and for other facial deformities. He is a lecturer instructing Ear, Nose & Throat and Head & Neck Surgeons around the world.
Dr. Sadeghi came to The MFA in his role as professor of Surgery at The GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences from Royal Victoria Hospital of McGill University in Canada, where he served as director of Head & Neck Surgery and assistant professor of Otolaryngology and Oncology. He has authored several book chapters and over 30 peer-reviewed article researching and developing new diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical techniques, and investigating causes of head and neck cancer and other diseases of the Ear, Nose & Throat. Dr. Sadeghi is a reviewer for several leading ENT-Head & Neck Surgery journals and is an editor of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery by eMedicine.
Dr. Sadeghi received his medical degree from McGill University of Canada in 1991. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGill University. He then completed two years of advanced fellowship training in head and neck-skull base surgery as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery at McGill University and Rush University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, as well as, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Sadeghi is an active member of American Head and Neck Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Thyroid Association, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology. He also is listed as a Washingtonian magazine Top Doctor.
