Endometriosis
Endometriosis occurs when cells from the uterine lining slough off and travel to other organs such as the ovaries or fallopian tubes. While it is not certain that Endometriosis causes infertility, the condition often is associated with infertility. Endometriosis is diagnosed through laparoscopic surgery. Treatments can include medications such as birth control pills or progestin supplements for milder forms of the disease; surgery may be appropriate to manage moderate to severe cases.
