Rajeev Pandarinath, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is also the Head Team Physician for George Washington University's athletic department. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at UCLA and fellowship in Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, where he worked with numerous sports teams at different levels, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers, St. Joseph's University, and numerous area high schools. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Pandarinath has several research interests in Sports Medicine, and has been published numerous times in peer-reviewed journals. His clinical interests include Shoulder Instability, Labral Injuries, Rotator Cuff Tears, Shoulder Impingement, Ulnar Collateral Ligament Injuries (Tommy John), Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow, Knee Ligament Injuries (ACL, MCL, PCL, and Posterolateral Corner), Meniscal Injuries, Patellar Instability, and Cartilage Restoration Procedures.
Dr. Pandarinath's approach is to use all of the available nonsurgical modalities to treat Sports Medicine-related problems, reserving more invasive surgical options as a final option. His goal is to approach each patient as an individual, personalizing his plan of care based on the patient’s expectations, needs, and desire to return to certain activities.
