Services Provided
Because of the high complexity of symptoms, signs and disease course, patients with MS are better served in multidisciplinary clinics which focus on primary, secondary and tertiary symptoms. The Multiple Sclerosis Center of The George Washington University MFA provides comprehensive care for patients with MS and other neuroinflammatory disorders.
Special focus on novel clinical trials combining interferons or copaxone with other medications and affiliations with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the MS Consortium are emphasized.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating disorders are major causes of neurological disability during the most productive years. Patients with MS suffer from a myriad of symptoms involving the motor, sensory, visual and cerebellar systems. Furthermore, fatigue, behavioral and, in instances, cognitive symptoms are currently being recognized as serious components of the MS syndrome.
