Amanda Gallagher, MSN, FNP-C, joins us as a certified Nurse Practitioner at the GW Medical Faculty Associates in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology.
Amanda received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Boston College. She then spent three years in Boston working as Registered Nurse on medical-surgical units, primarily at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the inpatient cardiology and heart transplant specialty unit. To further her interests in the science of nursing and providing preventative care to patients in the outpatient setting, she attended Georgetown University to obtain a Masters in Nursing in 2017. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Amanda is licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the District of Columbia.
Amanda has special interests in diabetes and preventative care utilizing evidenced-based practice. She enjoys providing ongoing patient education and encouraging patients to be active participants in their healthcare.
