Biography

Caroline Thoreson is a certified Physician Assistant, within the Division of Infectious Diseases, at the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates (GW MFA). Caroline received her BS in Biology at the College of Charleston and, after working as a post-baccalaureate IRTA at the National Institutes of Health for 2 years, she obtained her MMS Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed in the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining the GW MFA, Caroline worked in Emergency Medicine for 2 years at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Caroline works within the MFA's Infectious Disease and Travelers Clinics, in addition to performing clinical research trials involving vaccine development, HIV treatment and prevention as well as treatment interventions for COVID-19.
