Dr. Christopher Leon Guerrero is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Leon Guerrero received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine (preliminary) at Carolinas Medical Center followed by neurology residency at Duke University. He then went on to complete a vascular neurology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
He briefly worked at Washington University in St. Louis as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology in the general and stroke sections before transitioning to George Washington University. He is board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology.
His clinical interests include the prevention and management of cerebrovascular disorders. He attends the stroke and general inpatient service and sees patients in the neurology outpatient clinic. His academic interests include ischemic stroke research and education at both the medical student and resident level.
