Biography

Ilan Breit, PA, is a surgically trained certified physician assistant who earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and premedical sciences from the University of Maryland in 2006. After working as an engineer and orthopedic technician, he furthered his education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine's Physician's Assistant Program in 2015, graduating as class president. In 2016, he completed a surgical residency program at Duke University Medical Center. He then spent several years working in trauma and surgical sub-specialties in Baltimore, MD before joining MFA in 2020 to help start the trauma and emergency surgery division at VHC.

Ilan has a particular interest in trauma and surgery. He believes that efficient systems and attention to detail are key in improving medical practices and procedures. Driven by knowledge, Ilan is an active participant in academic research and has co-authored papers on college athletic-related injuries and deaths. He also enjoys teaching and precepting students.

Ilan grew up in Rockville, MD. In his spare time, he enjoys playing piano, ice hockey, biking, making pizzas, and spending time with family.
