Karen George, MD, FACOG is a board-certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and Clinical Associate Professor at George Washington University. Dr. George graduated with a BS in Biology from Bates College and earned her medical degree from Ohio State University School of Medicine. She completed a residency at University of New Mexico and served as a faculty member and clerkship co-Director at UNM for several years after residency. She proudly served as the Ob-Gyn Residency Director at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and a full time faculty member at Geisel School of Medicine in New Hampshire for 17 years.

She moved to the Washington, DC area in 2017 to be with her family. She is currently an MPH Candidate at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice with a practicum in value based care in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She serves nationally as the Vice Chair of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and as an oral examiner for American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

Dr. George is a Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and is honored to care for women across the reproductive health continuum. She believes that she co-produces health in partnership with her patients and she actively promotes shared medical decisions using the most current evidence available. She is passionate about teaching and learning.
