Biography

Matthew Ng, MD is board certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques along with robotic surgery for malignant and benign diseases including inflammatory bowel disease. He also practices transanal minimally invasive surgery for rectal pathologies. Dr. Ng has a deep interest for anal disorders as well, including anal dysplasia, hemorrhoids, fistula and fissure.

Dr. Ng has written articles on a variety of topics including trauma, quality improvement and cardiac arrest. He has presented at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) national conference, Southeastern Surgical Conference (SESC) and the Chicago Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Ng earned his medical degree at Chicago Medical School and completed general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then completed subspeciality fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.

Dr. Ng is a member of the American College of Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association. He is licensed in DC and MD.
