Dr. Minh-Phuong Huynh-Le is a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal and thoracic cancers. She is an expert in advanced radiation techniques including intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).

A native of Silver Spring, MD, Dr. Huynh-Le is proud to serve patients from the DC, MD, and VA communities that she grew up in. Her priority is to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based caner care. Dr. Huynh-Le believes it is important for patients to be aware of all possible cancer treatments and to be comfortable with their treatment plans. She actively involves all her patients in shared decision-making to help them get well.

Dr. Huynh-Le earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. She returned to Maryland to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD for her Medical Doctorate and stayed at Johns Hopkins Hospital for her internship in Internal Medicine. Dr. Huynh-Le then completed a Radiation Oncology residency at the University of California San Diego, where she served as Chief Resident. During her radiation oncology training, Dr. Huynh-Le also earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Research at UC San Diego. Her Master’s thesis focused on imaging biomarkers of attention/processing speed cognitive decline after brain radiotherapy.

An active clinical scientist, Dr. Huynh-Le’s research interests revolve around optimizing cancer care and minimizing health disparities using epidemiology, advanced imaging, and genomics. She also has a specific interest in HIV-associated malignancies. She has authored over 30 research manuscripts in prestigious journals such as JAMA Oncology; Cancer; Radiotherapy & Oncology; Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention; and The International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, & Physics.

Dr. Huynh-Le sees patients and delivers radiation treatments at the Department of Radiation Oncology at 2150 Pennsylvania Ave, DC Level (Entrance at the northeast corner of 22nd and I Street). She is licensed to practice medicine in the District of Columbia and California.
