Nancy K. Uhland, NP joined the Division of General Internal Medicine in March 2014 as a Nurse Practitioner.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services in 1997 and earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner at Georgetown University, School of Nursing and Health Studies in 2013.  She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

Nancy’s experience as a healthcare provider has been wide-ranging and spans a period of seventeen years in the Washington Metropolitan area.  Most of her practice has been in the Emergency Department as well as Interventional Radiology at the George Washington University Hospital.  More recently she worked as the Live Kidney Donor Coordinator at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, where she developed an interest in racial differences in kidney donation and transplantation outcomes for the African American patient. 

Her special interests include reducing health disparities and improving access to healthcare for the African American patients utilizing appropriate health communication in order to empower patients.
