Sasmira Lalwani, MD is board-certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
Dr. Lalwani is originally from India and earned her medical degree from the University of Bombay. She relocated to the United States and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Yale University School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center- Boston/Harvard Medical School, one of the largest Infertility centers in the country. She then joined Brown University Medical School/Tufts Medical Centre as a clinical assistant professor and received several teaching awards, before moving to Wake Forest University School of Medicine as an assistant professor.
Dr. Lalwani has been actively involved in several areas of research such as determining the genetic etiology of congenital absence of the uterus and vagina, looking at markers of implantation, pregnancy in Turner syndrome patients. She has published her research in several leading journals and won a prestigious award for her research on implantation at the Society of Gynecological Investigation.
Dr. Lalwani’s clinical interests include reproductive aging, improving IVF outcomes, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
