Tammy Smith is a certified family nurse practitioner with specialty training in breast cancer risk assessment, breast cancer screening, diagnostic breast ultrasound, breast cancer education, and surgical treatment planning. Tammy uses her education, experience, and specialty training to provide patients at the National Breast Center all of their screening, diagnostic and educational needs. She collaborates closely with Dr. Weintritt for any further recommended testing.
She first earned her nursing degree in 2002 and enjoyed many years working in adult critical care. In 2014, she advanced her education by completing her Masters of Science in Nursing at Drexel University, including clinical rotations mentoring with Dr. David Weintritt. Upon joining Dr. Weintritt at the National Breast Center in 2014, Tammy has had additional training in breast ultrasound and continues to learn from Dr. Weintritt’s expertise.
Believing in empowering patients to become educated and involved in their care is a high priority for Tammy. She recognizes that by taking the time to understand her patients’ needs, she is able to provide more thorough care and make the most of each patient encounter.
Tammy is also a proud mother of two boys and enjoys living a healthy, active lifestyle.
