About Helma Parikh

Helma Parikh is an Adult & Gerontology Nurse Practitioner within the Division of Cardiology at the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates.  After completing a degree in Community Health Education at the University of Maryland, College Park she completed her undergraduate and graduate training in nursing at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore.  As a nurse, she practiced in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for 5 years.  After her certification as a nurse practitioner, she joined the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates in the Division of Cardiology.  Her interests include Women’s health care and increasing awareness of cardiovascular disease in women through counseling, education and screening.
