Overview

The GW Medical Faculty Associates Inc. (MFA) is the largest multi-specialty physician group practice in Washington, DC. The MFA is a not-for-profit organization that supports the education and research missions of the George Washington University School of Medicine (University), but is a separate corporation from the University. The MFA employs over 750 clinicians who treat more than 4,600 patients per day in its 47 medical specialties. The Department of Emergency Medicine is a full academic department in the School of Medicine and was the seventh academic department of emergency medicine in the U.S.

The Department sponsors a broad range of clinical, educational, research, and consulting initiatives in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Management, and Telemedicine.
