Personalized Weight Loss Plans That Do Not Involve Surgery

Welcome to our clinic! We are a dedicated team whose mission is to help you lose weight. Our team consists of four physicians, a nurse practitioner, dietician and a physician who works on stress reduction and mindfulness. We also have a group dedicated to help with breast cancer patients who want to lose weight, and another general weight loss group for those who want peer support.

Weight Loss Clinic doctors

We work to achieve medical weight reduction through an individualized approach that may include nutrition, physical activity, behavior change, or medications. We do not offer surgery through our clinic. However, we do coordinate with our Bariatric Surgery program when needed. We also would be the ones to work with you for the six visits required by many insurances in preparation for Bariatric Surgery.

Who Can Benefit From Weight Loss Services?

Most of our patients have Obesity, that is, a BMI greater than 30 kg/m2, but we do work with overweight patients (BMI 25-30 kg/m2), especially if they have had recent weight gain that is due to medications or other health conditions.

We do not treat eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa. If you or a loved one struggle with an eating disorder, please contact a treatment center or therapist who specializes in this field. You can find a provider by visiting psychologytoday.com or at nationaleatingdisorders.org.

What to Expect

We ask that you print and fill out the intake survey. At your first visit, we like to get to know you and your past experiences with managing your weight. Our focus is on making sustainable lifestyle changes, so it is important that we work together to figure out what will be best for you. We may ask you to get a blood test, or to bring in specific test results with you. We understand that losing weight and keeping it off is not always easy. That is why we ask that you come in monthly, even if you do not lose weight at every visit. Our goal is to work with you and help you figure out what is affecting your weight.

The second visit is often with our dietician who will give you examples of healthy eating as well as make recommendations for improvement. She is a part of the team and will see you throughout your journey.

Once you reach your weight loss goal, you can follow up with us through individual or group visits. You might not need to come as often, but you may find the continued support helpful as you adapt to your new eating and exercise habits.

Reviews

Weight Loss Patient

"I went to see Dr. Hynes because my blood sugar level was reaching a level at which I would have to take medication for diabetes. Using her common sense approach, I lost 25 pounds in one year and my blood sugar level went from pre-diabetic to no concern about diabetes and all my other medical tests improved too. I was so impressed I decided to stick with the program and lose more weight."
